Does my fire extinguisher need to be mounted on a wall ?

In most situations, yes your fire extinguisher's must be affixed to a stationary object. This is to ensure easy access and dependability on the extinguishers location. The extinguisher should be easily visible and/or marked with the proper signage. All of our technicians are licensed and certified to install fire equipment in the State of California. Most purchases of new equipment will include installation free of charge.

Am I required to secure my fire extinguisher in a cabinet ?

No, you are never required to have your fire extinguishers in a cabinet. The only reason to have fire extinguisher cabinets is to prevent theft, vandalism and accidental discharge. Cabinets also help protect your extinguisher from elements like rain, sun, dirt, etc. Contractors will often install fire extinguisher cabinets during new construction as it is more aesthetically pleasing. Cabinets have there benefits but are not required.
