No, you are never required to
have your fire extinguishers in a cabinet. The only reason to have
fire extinguisher cabinets is to prevent theft, vandalism and
accidental discharge. Cabinets also help protect your extinguisher
from elements like rain, sun, dirt, etc. Contractors will often
install fire extinguisher cabinets during new construction as it is
more aesthetically pleasing. Cabinets have there benefits but are
not required. |
