What type & size of vehicle bracket is right for my truck ?

All commercial vehicles require a fire extinguisher (Per DOT). The extinguisher must be securely fastened to avoid injury in the case of a collision. The size and type of bracket for your vehicle will depend on the size and type of extinguisher your required to carry. The most common extinguisher used in commercial vehicles is a 5lb ABC. A standard 5lb vehicle bracket or a spring clip vehicle bracket would be recommended. The transport of hazardous or flammable materials would require a much larger extinguisher.

What's the difference between vehicle, marine and aircraft brackets ?

All brackets have the same goal, to safely secure a fire extinguisher. The differences between the types of brackets is a result of environment and weight of the extinguisher. A bracket designed for maritime use has a high salt spray resistance. A bracket for aircraft is double strapped because of the vibrations from the plane. The right bracket depends on the size and type of your extinguisher and the environment it is used in.
